The Professorship for Sustainable Economic Policy at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), headed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Pondorfer, is seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher (m/w/d) to support the ERC-StG-funded project “ClimaSoNo” (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101115813).
The project's mission is to understand the vast heterogeneity in behavior and beliefs regarding climate change across regions in Europe. Starting date for the position is November 2026 (or on later agreement).
Tasks
- Conduct high-quality, independent research related to social preferences, social norms, sustainable behavior, cross-cultural psychology (WEIRD), and economic (field) experiments.
- Contribute to joint publications, workshops, scientific exchange formats, and reporting within the project.
- Support strategic and administrative coordination of the team.
Requirements
- Excellent doctoral degree in economics with a focus on at least three of the following fields: behavioral economics, experimental economics, environmental economics, cultural economics, and development economics.
- Outstanding research record, ideally demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications or strong working papers.
- Strong methodological skills with focus on quantitative data collection (surveys, experiments, RCTs).
- Experience in project coordination.
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary environments.
- Outstanding command of written and spoken English; German skills are an asset but not required.
