Student Assistant (HiWi) in Optimisation & Machine Learning for Brain Activity Monitoring
Student Assistant (HiWi)
Physics-informed Machine Learning & Optimisation | HyperProbe Project
At the Chair for AI in Healthcare and Medicine, we are currently recruiting a HiWi student to work on an EIC Pathfinder Project (HyperProbe) focusing on the development of new hyperspectral technology for monitoring brain activity. As we approach the final stage of the project, your work will contribute directly to a real device prototype scheduled for clinical trials in the coming year.
Your Tasks
- Develop further algorithmic approaches (based on standard optimisation and physics-informed machine learning) for processing hyperspectral data of brain activity.
- Implement the algorithms in an efficient, clean manner.
- Contribute to a high-impact project and be employed for a duration of at least 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
Your Qualifications
- Student in Computational Sciences, Informatics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Extensive programming experience with Python and/or ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a clear affinity for math of optimisation problems.
- Excellent communication skills and an interest in interdisciplinary work.
